T-Mobile made waves this fall with its free Netflix offer, and now rival carrier Sprint is hoping to do the same with Hulu. Spotify stations app for pc.
Speaker with free spotify. Sprint Unlimited Freedom customers will soon gain access to Hulu's 'limited commercials' (aka ad-supported) plan for free. The perk launches Nov. 17 for new and existing customers; to sign up, head here. The limited commercials plan offers access to Hulu's entire library of TV series and movies, including TheGood Doctor, This is Us, The Mindy Project and originals like The Handmaid's Tale.
The companies also plan to soon offer Sprint unlimited customers the option to upgrade to Hulu's Live TV plan, which offers access to 50 different live TV channels plus a cloud-based DVR. That normally costs $39.99 per month; Sprint did not announce how much it would cost through the carrier.
Sprint has launched its answer to T-Mobile's free Netflix offering and AT&T's free HBO. It took the Now Network a couple of months to cook up a response, but it's worth the wait if you're a Hulu. Sprint's Unlimited Basic is priced the same as their old Unlimited Freedom plan, but dispenses with the HD streaming and limits the mobile hotspot allowance to 500MB. Also, gaming is is limited to 2 Mbps speeds, and music streams at 500 kbps. On the other hand, you get 5GB of 4G LTE data in Canada and Mexico, whereas you only got 1GB before.

Hulu recently lowered the price of its limited-commercials plan from $7.99 to $5.99 a month, a limited-time promotion that coincided with Netflix's recent price hike. Hulu last summer dropped its free streaming service, though newbies can still get a one-week free trial to see how they like it.

Sprint's Unlimited Freedom plan is priced at $60 per month for one line, or you can get up to five lines for $100 per month through Jan. 31, 2019. Unlimited Freedom offers unlimited talk, text, and data (with 'data deprioritization [aka throttling] during congestion'); video streams at up to 1080p; and 10GB of hotspot data per line.
In other streaming news, Hulu last week became the first US streaming service to debut on the Nintendo Switch.
